MAAS Building

MAAS Building is a distinctive event space in Philadelphia’s Kensington area, offering a choice of indoor, outdoor and combined spaces for organisers planning private celebrations, weddings, performances, workshops, receptions, rehearsals and creative events. The venue combines an industrial character with a warm, community-focused atmosphere, making it suitable for occasions that need more personality than a conventional function room.

The Upstairs Event Space is a 1,300 square foot loft with exposed brick, wooden floors, high ceilings and original structural details. It can accommodate up to 100 seated guests and includes tables, chairs, Wi-Fi, a stereo system, projector, screen, PA equipment and access to a half-kitchen for selected events. The room is well suited to receptions, parties, small performances, workshops, classes and presentations.

For organisers looking for an indoor-outdoor setting, the 5th Side, patio and garden create a flexible backdrop for celebrations and informal gatherings. The outdoor areas include built-in lighting, seating, planting, a fire pit and space for food trucks or welcome areas. Depending on the season and booking arrangement, organisers can combine the interior spaces with the patio and garden, creating a more varied guest experience.

MAAS Building supports both self-organised and catered events. Hosts can bring in approved caterers, arrange food trucks or plan more informal food service, while beverage packages include self-service beer and wine, staffed beer and wine bars, or batch cocktails. Tables and chairs are included with the space, and additional sound, lighting, staging and projection equipment is available for suitable bookings.

The venue also has a strong connection to Philadelphia’s arts community, regularly supporting music, theatre, dance, film, exhibitions and artist residencies.
