Guildhall Winchester

Guildhall Winchester is a historic event venue in the heart of the city, offering an adaptable setting for conferences, meetings, exhibitions, festivals, parties, banquets, networking events and weddings. Its late nineteenth-century building combines distinctive Victorian character with practical facilities for modern organisers, making it suitable for both intimate gatherings and large-scale occasions.

The venue includes a varied selection of rooms, from elegant chambers and light-filled meeting spaces to traditional halls, a lecture-style conference room and larger event areas. Bapsy Hall provides the largest setting, while King Charles Hall, The Courtyard, Wintonian, Eversley, Wykeham, Walton, the Mayor’s Parlour and St Cross Room offer different layouts and atmospheres for smaller or multi-room bookings. Depending on the room and event format, spaces can accommodate anything from small meetings to events for around 1,000 guests.

Guildhall Winchester operates primarily as a venue-only hire location. Organisers can arrange catering, licensed bars, audio-visual production, security, stewarding, cleaning and access control through the venue’s approved suppliers. Furniture is available as part of the hire, and smaller meeting rooms include basic audio-visual equipment and table linen. A duty manager supports facilities management, emergency procedures and key-holding during bookings.

The venue also has a dedicated wedding offering, with two halls available for ceremonies and receptions supported by a wedding partner. Its central Winchester location places guests close to the cathedral, shops, hotels, restaurants, public transport and city-centre parking. Guildhall Winchester is currently accepting bookings ahead of a planned restoration closure from March 2027.
