Crypt on the Green

Crypt on the Green is a distinctive event venue in Clerkenwell, central London, offering several historic spaces for private and corporate hire. Set within and around St James’s Church, the venue combines original architecture with modern event facilities, creating an atmospheric setting for organisers seeking something different from a conventional conference or banqueting space.

The main Crypt features exposed brickwork, vaulted ceilings, parquet flooring and generous natural light from its large windows. It can host a broad range of formats, including conferences, meetings, presentations, exhibitions, product launches, wine tastings, parties, concerts, filming projects and formal dinners. Depending on the layout, the space can accommodate smaller boardroom meetings, seated dining for up to 150 guests or standing receptions for up to 300 people. The adjoining Well provides useful storage or backstage space.

Organisers can also hire the Church, a Grade II* listed building suitable for concerts, recitals, talks, exhibitions, conferences and filming. With balcony access, it can welcome up to 350 people.
