The Claggett Center

The Claggett Center is a conference, retreat and event venue set across 268 acres of countryside in Adamstown, Maryland. Located within easy reach of Washington, DC and Baltimore, it provides organisers with a peaceful setting for conferences, leadership retreats, training sessions, religious gatherings, family events and weddings.

The venue combines flexible meeting facilities with overnight accommodation, on-site dining and extensive outdoor space. Monocacy Hall offers adaptable conference rooms for groups of around 15 to 200 people, with breakout options, complimentary Wi-Fi and audiovisual equipment. The restored Delaplaine Barn provides a distinctive setting for larger gatherings, accommodating up to 270 guests in a climate-controlled space with a hardwood floor, hospitality area and panoramic views. Smaller rooms in the Inn and cottages are available for board meetings, workshops and private discussions.

Overnight groups can stay in approximately 60 hotel-style guest rooms, as well as cottages and other group accommodation. The centre’s food service team prepares daily meals, with buffet dining, refreshments, snacks, receptions and banqueting available to suit different programmes and schedules. Dietary requirements can be discussed in advance.

For weddings, Claggett offers indoor and outdoor ceremony options, a historic barn reception space, catering, accommodation and ample parking. Organisers can also make use of the surrounding trails, river access, labyrinth, farm setting, recreational areas and experiential learning facilities. Its combination of practical event infrastructure, hospitality and natural surroundings makes it suitable for multi-day retreats, residential conferences, team gatherings, celebrations and faith-based programmes.
