Bechtel Conference Center

Bechtel Conference Center provides a professional event venue within Stanford University’s Encina Hall, designed for conferences, lectures, panel discussions, meetings, receptions and dining events. The venue’s main hall can accommodate up to 184 people in theatre-style seating, with alternative layouts for classroom sessions, board meetings, panels and seated meals. An adjoining auxiliary room can be used for breakout sessions, overflow seating, catering service or supporting activities.

The centre is well suited to organisers who need a venue with integrated presentation technology. Standard hire includes tables, chairs, a lectern, stage equipment, wireless microphones, projection onto a large screen, a presentation laptop, presenter monitoring, decorative uplighting, specialist video lighting, assisted listening and Stanford wireless access. More than 95 country flags are also available for international or diplomatic occasions.

Additional spaces include the Oksenberg Room for smaller meetings, intimate dining and breakout use, as well as a private VIP room that can serve as a green room or speaker preparation area. Reception options include the Coit D. Blacker Lobby, the Moghadam Atrium and the landscaped Encina Bechtel Courtyard, which can host outdoor receptions or dinners for approximately 20 to 150 guests.

Bechtel Conference Center also offers premium technical support, including four-camera video recording, live switching, hybrid event production and livestreaming to major online platforms. A dedicated service pantry supports caterers with refrigeration, warming equipment, preparation surfaces and a service entrance.

The venue is available to Stanford academic and administrative units. External organisations may use it when sponsored by a Stanford unit, and events must support Stanford’s educational and research mission.
