The Poplars

The Poplars is a countryside retreat venue near Ledbury in Herefordshire, created for churches, youth groups, Christian organisations and other larger groups planning residential events. Set within a historic farm estate, the venue combines exclusive use, practical accommodation and a broad range of shared facilities, making it suitable for weekend retreats, church gatherings, youth camps, leadership away days and group conferences.

The site can accommodate groups of up to 150 guests across several converted farm buildings. Accommodation includes the historic Tithe Barn, the Granary and the Stables, together with accessible and standard caravans and a distinctive former railway carriage. Sleeping arrangements range from ensuite dormitories to smaller bedrooms, allowing organisers to plan stays for mixed-age groups and larger residential parties.

For meetings and programmed activities, The Poplars provides several flexible spaces. The Packhouse can seat up to 250 people and has a screen and internet access. The Tithe Barn meeting room accommodates up to 80 guests, while the Cellar Cinema seats up to 50 and can also be used for smaller breakout sessions or quiet activities. A fully equipped self-catering kitchen and dining room seating approximately 120 guests support flexible meal planning, with external catering options available through recommended local partners.

Groups also have access to a sports hall, games room, playing field, five-kilometre running route, campfire area and fire pits. The venue is available for sole group use, helping organisers create a private programme without sharing facilities with other bookings. Its location close to the M50 makes it accessible for groups travelling from across the UK, while the rural surroundings provide a peaceful setting for reflection, recreation and community building.
