From artisanal butcher shop to inspiring meeting place

The building was built in 1903. It served as a horse butchery for many years, and several generations of Beemster farmers grew up there. The front of the building is a protected village view, so the characteristic horse heads will always remain.

In 1999, the horse butchery moved in. The entire building was still the horse butchery's shop; even the counter and smoke boilers were still there. Since 1999, much has been renovated. The entire layout was changed, the ground floor was raised and leveled, the roof was insulated, and additional beams were even installed to reinforce the roof. The former horse butchery now became a studio, and the painter's easel was set up in the attic.

In 2024, we converted the former horse butchery and workshop into a modern rental location, fully equipped with all modern conveniences. The stained glass was repaired and replaced with HR+++ glass.

Today, De Paardenslagerij offers an inspiring environment for local entrepreneurs, trainers, coaches, and individuals looking for a unique location with character for their meetings and activities.
