Boom Chicago's beautiful theater on the Rozengracht is one of Amsterdam's most special locations. The hundred-year-old, former cinema in the heart of the Jordaan used to accommodate about a thousand film fans.

Today, the huge building has been renovated into a modern, flexible venue with a large theater hall for 330 visitors and a small hall with bar for around 110 guests.

In the historic building with the original stained glass windows on the Rozengracht you will also find a number of break-out areas, offices, studios and the popular Bar 117.

Boom Chicago's performances can be seen almost every night, but the venue is also available for private events during the day and evenings. If a show is scheduled in the evening, it is often possible to buy it out.

Our can-do institution, a refreshing counterpart to the more common 'that's not possible' mentality at traditional locations. We enjoy working together and can take care of everything from catering and supplying a chairman or Master of Ceremony to tailor-made sketches and video, invitations or parking spaces.
We don't charge for every small request. Of course special wishes cost money, but the basis of technical facilities, light, beamers, screens, good WiFi capacity and other things that are present are included in the rent.
Our flexible multi-room building is suitable for various events from conferences to awards shows to receptions and kick-off meetings. There is also a large area behind the stage with dressing rooms with showers, a kitchen and lounge on the ground floor. There are also two higher dressing rooms with shower.
Our extensive creative team of actors, writers, directors, hosts and moderators can be used in many ways, from writing and performing custom sketches to funny interludes or hosting a meeting. With humor they contribute to a great and positive atmosphere that also contributes well to conveying the messages or themes of the event.
It is easy to give the theater its own character with few resources . All furniture can be removed so that furniture can be hired that may better suit the meeting. There are also three large screens in the room for your own images and logos. You can easily hang banners on the 10-meter-high side walls from the catwalk above the hall. There is enough space for larger objects in the room or work with our colored theater lights to create the right atmosphere. Bar 117 also has 7 steel A0 frames for posters and a white wall on which to project.
Our professional AV set up. A complete lighting plan, screens, beamers, sound and microphones and our own experienced technicians mean that you do not have to enter anything extra if it is a regular event. If you do have a special technical wish, we would like to contact our connections to fill it in.
We are not tied to a regular caterer . We do have a large network of progressive and high-quality catering companies with whom we like to work, making it easy for us to give the right interpretation to an event in terms of style and budget. We can also book lunch and dinner at restaurants within walking distance of our location.

Accessibility:

Parking is easy. Unfortunately not free, but Europarking around the corner has room for 700 cars. Of course we can provide exit tickets.
Public transport options are excellent. There are direct trams and buses from Central Station, Schiphol, € 1 PR places and all neighborhoods in Amsterdam.
Tour buses can leave guests right outside the door.
Our theater is also easily accessible by tour boat and bicycle.

Number of persons:

330 seated guests in the large theater hall with high ceiling including balcony.
250 people in the foyer, spread over three levels with the original stained glass windows from 1913 on the front.
110 seated guests in the 'Upstairs Theater' for meetings, workshops, private dinners and shows. There is a small bar in the room.

WIFI

The top-level WiFi can handle the capacity of various productions. Everyone can log in at the same time with private and good speed. With internet service from two providers, an unexpected malfunction also does not pose a problem for the progress of the event.

Environment: The beautiful Amsterdam Jordaan with the Westerkerk and the Anne Frank House within walking distance of the theater.

Boom Chicago's prachtige theater aan de Rozengracht is een van Amsterdam's meest bijzondere locaties. De honderd jaar oude, voormalige bioscoop in het hart van de Jordaan bood vroeger plaats aan zo'n duizend filmliefhebbers.

Tegenwoordig is het enorme gebouw gerenoveerd tot een moderne, flexibele venue met een grote theaterzaal voor 330 bezoekers en een kleine zaal met bar voor rond de 110 gasten.

In het historische pand met de originele glas-in-lood ramen aan de Rozengracht vind je verder nog een aantal break out ruimtes, kantoren, studio’s en de populaire Bar 117.

Boom Chicago's voorstellingen zijn bijna elke avond te zien, maar de locatie is ook beschikbaar voor besloten evenementen zowel overdag als 's avonds. Als er een show geprogrammeerd staat in de avond, dan is het vaak mogelijk om deze uit te kopen.

Onze opdrachtgevers zijn vol lof over ons. Daarbij worden de volgende zaken altijd uitgelicht:

Onze can-do instelling, een verfrissende tegenhanger van de meer gangbare 'dat is niet mogelijk' mentaliteit bij traditionele locaties. We werken graag samen en kunnen alles onder onze hoede nemen van de catering en het leveren van een dagvoorzitter of Master of Ceremony tot aan op maat gemaakte sketches en video, uitnodigingen of parkeerplaatsen.
We brengen niet voor elk klein verzoek kosten in rekening. Natuurlijk kosten bijzondere wensen geld, maar de basis aan technische voorzieningen, licht, beamers, schermen, goede Wifi capaciteit en andere zaken die aanwezig zijn, zijn inbegrepen in de huurprijs.
Ons flexibel pand met meerdere ruimtes is geschikt voor verschillende events van conferenties tot aan awards shows tot aan recepties en kick off meetings. Er is verder een groot deel achter het podium met kleedkamers met douches, een keuken en lounge op de begane grond. Er zijn verder nog twee hoger gelegen kleedkamers met douche.
Ons uitgebreide creatieve team van acteurs, schrijvers, regisseurs, hosts en moderators zijn op veel manieren inzetbaar, van het schrijven en uitvoeren van op maat gemaakte sketches tot grappige intermezzo’s of het hosten van een bijeenkomst. Met humor dragen ze bij aan een geweldige en positieve sfeer die daarnaast goed bijdraagt aan het overdragen van de boodschappen of thema’s van het event.
Het is makkelijk om het theater met weinig middelen een eigen karakter te geven. Alle meubels kunnen er uit zodat meubilair kan worden ingehuurd dat wellicht beter bij de bijeenkomst past. Verder zijn er drie grote schermen in de zaal voor eigen beelden en logo’s. Vanaf de catwalk boven de zaal hang je eenvoudig banieren aan de 10 meter hoge zijwanden. Er is voldoende plaats voor grotere objecten in de zaal of werk met onze gekleurde theaterlichten om de juiste sfeer te creëren. Bar 117 heeft verder ook nog 7 stalen A0 frames voor posters en een witte wand waarop geprojecteerd kan worden.

Een compleet lichtplan, schermen, beamers, geluid en microfoons en onze eigen ervaren technici maken dat je weinig tot niets extra’s hoeft in te voeren als het een regulier event betreft. Als je wel een bijzondere technische wens hebt, dan spreken wij graag onze connecties aan om het in te vullen.
We zijn niet gebonden aan een vaste cateraar. We hebben wel een groot netwerk van vooruitstrevende en kwalitatieve catering bedrijven met wie we graag werken, waardoor het makkelijk is voor ons om de juiste invulling te geven aan een event qua stijl en budget. We kunnen ook lunch en diners reserveren bij restaurants op loopafstand van onze locatie.

Bereikbaarheid:

Parkeren is makkelijk. Helaas niet gratis, maar Europarking om de hoek heeft plaats voor 700 auto’s . Uiteraard kunnen we zorgen voor uitrijkaarten.
De openbaar vervoer opties zijn uitstekend. Er gaan directe trams en bussen vanaf Centraal Station, Schiphol, €1 PR plaatsen en alle buurten in Amsterdam.
Tourbussen kunnen gasten direct voor de deur uitlaten.
Ons theater is ook goed bereikbaar per rondvaartboot en fiets.

330 zittende gasten in de grote theaterzaal met hoog plafond incl balkon.
250 personen in de foyer die is uitgespreid over drie niveau’s met aan de voorzijde nog de originele glas-in-lood ramen uit 1913.
110 zittende gasten in de 'Upstairs Theater' voor vergaderingen, workshops, besloten diners en shows. Er zit een kleine bar in de ruimte.

WIFI

De top-level wifi kan de capaciteit van uiteenlopende producties aan. Iedereen kan tegelijkertijd inloggen met besloten en goede snelheid. Met internet service van twee providers, levert een onverwachte storing ook geen probleem op voor de voortgang van het event.
