We welcome over 200.000 visitors in our halls, foyers, boardrooms and restaurant divided over more than 500 unique shows and (business) events. Stadsschouwburg Utrecht offers high level of hospitality and excellent technical facilities all under the roof of a monumental building. We rent out our boardrooms to several organisations, businesses and individuals. The rooms

Stadsschouwburg Utrecht has had bigger and smaller theater hall, a boardroom, a private dining room, four charateristic foyers excluding a foyer for the artists/performers which are all being rented out. The acoustics and climate control are optimized and in perfect shape. You have total control over the hall layour, seating layour, the lighting and the stage setting. Because of our technical facilities we have the ability to offer the right stage for you event. Curious?

The building

Stadsschouwburg Utrecht is a monumental building which was build in 1940 after the design by Marinus Dudok. Through the ages a few radical changes have been implemented. As a result the building has become more spatious and still has the cultural feeling a theater should have. The distinctive characteristics that differentiate this building from others are the spatious environment, the (natural) lighting scene and the view to the public. The building is a unique place to invite guests, get to know eachother, celebrate and enjoy a carefree evening through which all of your concerns will be taken care of.

Accessibility  

Stadsschouwburg Utrecht has a central location, on the edge of the historic centre of Utrecht. The theater is very accessible by public transport and enough parking spaces in the parking lots nearby (paid parking). It is only a 15-minute walk from Central Station making it an ideal nearby place for your cultural or business event.
