Greyfriars Hall at Virgin Hotels Edinburgh

Greyfriars Hall is a distinctive venue for weddings, celebrations and business events in Edinburgh's Old Town. Set within Virgin Hotels Edinburgh, the main hall occupies a restored historic church, where vaulted ceilings and Gothic Revival details give the space a strong sense of character. It can accommodate up to 150 people and can be arranged for dining, theatre-style presentations, classroom sessions, cabaret or boardroom meetings.

The venue is suited to wedding receptions, corporate dinners, conferences, networking gatherings and private occasions. Alongside Greyfriars Hall, organisers can consider smaller hotel spaces, including The Sandbox, The Study and The Founders, for meetings, workshops or more intimate events. Several of these rooms have natural light and can be set up in different layouts, making it possible to plan a larger gathering with smaller breakout sessions.

Virgin Hotels Edinburgh provides an events team to discuss requirements and help shape a proposal. Event facilities include Wi-Fi, audiovisual connections and options for tailored catering. The hotel setting also gives organisers access to on-site food and drink facilities and guest accommodation, which can be useful for events with visitors travelling to the city. Greyfriars Hall has its own entrance on Cowgate, placing it close to the surrounding Old Town streets and attractions. With its historic architecture, flexible event formats and supporting hotel facilities, it offers organisers a memorable setting for both formal functions and relaxed social occasions.
