Somerley

Somerley Estate is a private country estate on the Hampshire and Dorset border, offering event planners an exclusive setting for weddings, corporate occasions and private celebrations. The historic Georgian house stands within extensive parkland and woodland, giving organisers a choice of elegant indoor rooms and outdoor locations for events with different styles and formats.

For weddings, couples can hold ceremonies and receptions in the house, including the Picture Gallery, or choose an outdoor setting in the grounds. Somerley's woodland area offers a licensed ceremony location beneath mature trees, with space to bring in a marquee, tipi or stretch tent and arrange catering through the estate's listed suppliers. The house can host wedding breakfasts for up to 140 guests and evening receptions for up to 200. Marquee options in the grounds can accommodate larger celebrations, and the main house has nine double bedrooms, with further properties on the estate for overnight stays.

Corporate organisers can enquire about meetings and conferences, exclusive estate hire, product launches, dinners and milestone celebrations. The dining room seats 18 around one table, while other rooms, including the Drawing Room and Picture Gallery, can provide additional event or breakout space. The wider grounds are also available for selected larger events, subject to discussion with the estate team.

The venue is not open for general public visits, so event viewings and bookings are arranged in advance. Organisers can contact the events team to discuss their plans, suitable spaces and the practical arrangements for a private booking.
