Pittsburgh Playhouse

Pittsburgh Playhouse, part of Point Park University, offers a range of performance and event spaces for organisers in Downtown Pittsburgh. The venue welcomes bookings for conferences, meetings, birthday parties, galas and performances, with rooms suited to both intimate gatherings and larger audiences.

The largest space, PNC Theatre, seats 550 and has a fully equipped stage with rigging, a trap system and a three-position orchestra pit. Highmark Theatre accommodates up to 200 guests in a flexible black-box setting. Its glass wall opens towards the plaza, creating the option to connect indoor events with an outdoor area. For smaller productions and gatherings, Rauh Theatre is a 99-seat black-box theatre with a tension grid.

The Playhouse also offers four rehearsal studios in different sizes. They have playback and video-recording facilities, smart-room capabilities, mirrors, blackout curtains and marley floors, making them useful for rehearsals, meetings and conferences. Additional spaces include the George Rowland White Performance Studio, a grand lobby with a bar and coat check, a terrace overlooking Forbes Avenue and an outdoor plaza. Some spaces can be combined, giving organisers flexibility when planning receptions, conference breaks or other parts of an event.

Bookings are arranged through the Playhouse's events team. Rental costs vary by space, and estimates may not include labour or additional services, so organisers can discuss their requirements and confirm arrangements in a written contract. Located at 350 Forbes Avenue, the Playhouse provides a central Pittsburgh setting with purpose-built theatre facilities and adaptable spaces for public and private events.
