The Ensign

The Ensign offers two function halls for hire at its community centre in Wellclose Square, East London. Organisers can book the main hall, the smaller hall or both spaces together for private and public events. The venue is used for weddings, parties, conferences, seminars, sports and recreational activities, classes and workshops.

The main hall can accommodate up to 130 people seated at tables, or up to 200 in a conference layout. The small hall seats up to 70 around tables and can hold up to 85 in a conference arrangement. This choice of room sizes makes the centre suitable for gatherings ranging from smaller meetings and classes to larger celebrations and presentations.

The main hall includes a climbing wall and badminton court, and opens onto a garden through French doors. These facilities may suit organisers looking for a room with recreational features as well as a conventional function space. Limited off-street parking is available, and the centre is within reach of nearby Underground and DLR stations.

The Ensign is also a youth and community organisation, with a history of providing activities and support for local young people and families. Its halls are available to the public, giving event planners a practical local venue for occasions and group activities. Hire arrangements and rates vary by room, day and time, so organisers should confirm availability, costs and the details of their booking directly with the venue.
