WDC Theater

WDC Theater is a historic performance venue inside Shreveport's Woman's Department Club, a distinctive setting for organisers looking for a theatre with character. The main auditorium has around 400 seats and was built in 1925. Its stage and intimate layout have made it a home for concerts, musical performances, lectures and other presentations.

Louisiana Grandstand has used the theatre for touring musicians, regional showcases and other live music programming. Its former Shreveport experience also included the Listening Lounge, a smaller space combining live performances with food and cocktails. The auditorium's historic setting and focus on live performance make it particularly suited to concerts, talks and similar audience-based events. The venue's own information directs people interested in hosting an event or concert to the Woman's Department Club for rental details, so organisers should confirm the available spaces, arrangements and dates directly.

There is an important change to bear in mind when planning. Louisiana Grandstand has announced that it is moving its music operation to the Louisiana Boardwalk in Bossier City, with a new destination planned in phases. Its official website currently promotes the future move, while its event information still refers to the Shreveport address. Organisers should therefore check which location is being offered for their date before making plans. WDC Theater remains a notable historic venue listing, but current access and rental arrangements should be confirmed with the Woman's Department Club.
