The Silk House

The Silk House is a Grade II listed Georgian townhouse in the centre of Leek, offering event space alongside guest accommodation and a bar. Its function room, once the house's ballroom, provides an intimate setting for wedding breakfasts, celebrations and smaller gatherings. It can seat up to 50 guests for a meal, with space for evening receptions of up to 100 across the venue's event areas.

The walled garden is available for guests to enjoy drinks and photographs, and can host symbolic ceremonies such as handfastings, blessings and vow renewals. Legal wedding ceremonies take place elsewhere, before couples and their guests continue the celebrations at the house. The main bar can also be used for private parties, while the venue welcomes events including birthdays, christenings, wakes and conferences.

Organisers can arrange in-house catering or bring an independent caterer. External caterers must provide and serve their own food and bring the equipment and tableware they need. Couples are free to choose their own suppliers, including florists, photographers and music providers. The venue can discuss exclusive use of additional areas, subject to availability and notice.

Seven individually designed en-suite rooms are available for overnight stays, including a honeymoon suite. A room for the couple is included with wedding hire, and guests can ask about reserving rooms for family and friends. The building has stairs throughout and no lift, so organisers should discuss access requirements with the venue in advance.
