Guildhall

Guildhall is a historic venue in the centre of Bath, offering distinctive rooms for weddings, private celebrations and business events. Its Grade I listed Georgian building dates from the late 18th century and is known for its grand interiors, including the Banqueting Room with its chandeliers, columns and portraits. The city-centre setting is within walking distance of Bath Spa railway station.

The Banqueting Room is the largest space, with capacity for seated dinners of up to 200, theatre-style events of up to 300 and drinks receptions of up to 350. Smaller options include the Brunswick Room, Georgian Room and Council Chamber, suitable for ceremonies, meetings and more intimate gatherings. The adjoining Aix-en-Provence Room can provide extra space for refreshments or registration when hired with the Banqueting Room.

Organisers can book the venue for wedding ceremonies and receptions, parties, dinners, conferences, meetings, concerts and exhibitions. The events team can help with planning, room layouts and coordination with suppliers. Hire includes furniture, modular staging, screens, projectors and Wi-Fi. Organisers may choose a caterer and bar supplier from the recommended list or arrange their own, with use of the venue kitchen available for suitable bookings.

Guildhall is also home to the Bath Register Office. Couples planning a ceremony should check whether they need to arrange a registrar separately, depending on their chosen room and ceremony arrangements. The venue’s mix of historic character, flexible event spaces and central location makes it an option for organisers seeking an elegant setting in Bath.
