Belle Isle Casino

Set within Belle Isle Park in Detroit, Belle Isle Casino offers event planners a distinctive historic setting for weddings, receptions, galas and community celebrations. The 1908 building is known for its Renaissance Revival character, sweeping staircases, arched windows and restored stained-glass ceiling. Its island location also gives events a sense of occasion, with the park and Detroit River close by.

The venue can accommodate up to 200 guests on either its lower or upper level. Tables and chairs are included in the facility rental, although clients are responsible for arranging them. The standard booking period is eight consecutive hours, which must cover set-up, the event and clean-up. Wedding ceremonies can include a one-hour rehearsal, subject to availability. Event planners may bring in vendors for their services and products, with deliveries and removal of equipment taking place within the booked period. Events must finish by 9 pm, and guests and vendors must leave the park by 10 pm.

Belle Isle Casino is managed through Belle Isle Park and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Its official rental agreement lists weddings and receptions among the permitted event types. At present, the DNR says reservations for dates from 1 October 2026 are temporarily paused while new vendor agreements are finalised. Organisers should check directly with the park's event office for current availability and booking requirements before making plans.
