The Empty Space Theatre

The Empty Space Theatre is a black-box performance venue in Salford, available for hire by event planners, performers and organisations. Its main theatre can seat up to 155 people, with flexible seating that can be adapted for smaller audiences or different types of event. The stage and auditorium are suited to theatre productions, live music, comedy, cabaret, conferences, workshops, parties and other creative gatherings.

The venue includes stage lighting, a sound system, a projector and screen, along with backstage and green-room facilities. A bar and reception area provides space for guests before a performance or during an interval. Organisers can also enquire about hiring smaller studio and meeting spaces for rehearsals, workshops, castings and meetings. The upstairs meeting room can accommodate around 20 people, while the studio rooms offer additional options for smaller activities.

Accessibility is an important feature, with step-free entrance access, ground-floor seating and an accessible toilet. Parking is available nearby, and the venue is close to MediaCity and public transport links. Event planners can discuss their requirements with the team, including the event date, hire duration, set-up and get-out times, and the intended use of the space. Hire arrangements are quoted according to the booking, and organisers can ask about technical support, event promotion and ticketing options. The theatre provides a flexible setting for event planners looking for an intimate stage venue with supporting spaces and essential production facilities.
