Doctorow Center for the Arts

The Doctorow Center for the Arts is a performing arts venue in Hunter, in New York's Catskill Mountains. Its main event space, Evelyn Weisberg Hall, is a theatre-style auditorium with fixed seating and a raised stage, suited to live performances, concerts, plays and other audience-focused productions. Organisers can review detailed technical information about the hall when considering it for a booking.

The stage has a proscenium, curtains, lighting positions and a lighting control console, with backstage dressing and green-room areas for performers. There is a ground-level loading entrance for equipment, and the venue lists electrical provisions and access arrangements to help production teams plan a setup. A permanent house sound system is not provided, but rental sound equipment can be arranged with advance notice. The venue also asks for advance notice when overhead technical work is needed.

The centre is part of the Catskill Mountain Foundation and shares its building with the Mountain Cinema, a three-screen cinema, and the Piano Performance Museum. The Foundation presents performing arts and film programmes throughout the year, while the hall's technical specifications and party-scheduling contact make it a location for organisers to enquire about use of the space. Its theatre format and stage facilities are particularly relevant for performance-led events that need an auditorium, backstage support and production planning. Contact the Foundation to discuss availability, requirements and arrangements for a potential booking.
