The Ark

The Ark is a non-profit live music venue in downtown Ann Arbor, presenting folk, roots and acoustic performers in an intimate listening-room setting. Its programme spans established artists and emerging musicians, with concerts taking place throughout the year and live music featured on more than 300 nights annually.

For event planners and music presenters, The Ark offers a distinctive performance space centred on attentive listening and close audience connection. Its programme includes a broad range of folk and roots styles, alongside open-stage nights that give local performers a chance to play for a supportive audience. The venue also presents special programmes and larger fundraising events, including the annual Ann Arbor Folk Festival, held at a larger local venue.

Organisers interested in booking or programming can contact The Ark's programme team to discuss procedures and private-event information. The operations team can also advise performers and organisers about hospitality and technical requirements. The venue is accessible by lift, and its downtown location is close to public parking facilities.

The Ark's day-to-day work is supported by members, donors and volunteers, reflecting its community-focused mission. Whether planning a live performance or enquiring about a private event, organisers can speak with the team about the format and practical details. The Ark combines a dedicated music programme with an intimate setting suited to audiences who want to experience performers up close.
