Preston Hall

Preston Hall is a historic country estate in Pathhead, Midlothian, set among parkland and gardens a short drive from Edinburgh. Its Georgian house, stable block and restored 18th-century walled garden give event planners a choice of distinctive backdrops for private and business occasions.

The estate offers exclusive use for intimate celebrations, including birthdays, anniversaries, tea parties and drinks parties. The Walled Garden can host a seated gathering of up to 40 people beneath a stretch tent, surrounded by flowers and established greenery. Weddings and elopements are also part of the estate's offering, with the gardens and wider grounds providing settings for ceremonies, receptions and photographs. Larger celebrations can make use of the house and estate spaces, with accommodation available in the country house for groups seeking a longer stay.

For corporate organisers, Preston Hall can host team away days, client dinners and management lunches. The team can also arrange more tailored experiences, such as outdoor drinks parties, yoga in a meadow, a private-chef lunch in the garden's gazebo towers and a makers' experience. The estate's rural setting offers a private alternative to a city venue while remaining close to Edinburgh.

The grounds are also available to location scouts and production teams for photography and filming. Options include the mansion and original interiors, the walled garden, cottages, woodland, parkland, farm buildings and riverside walks. Practical provisions for productions include a hard-standing unit base and access for large vehicles. Organisers can contact the estate to discuss their requirements and explore which areas suit their plans.
