Temple Theater

Temple Theater is a historic, multipurpose venue in downtown Rochester, available to hire for performances, celebrations and organised gatherings. Its distinctive interior features stained glass, detailed woodwork, a tiered balcony and a large stage, creating a characterful setting for events with an audience. The venue can accommodate more than 1,000 people, making it suitable for productions and occasions on a substantial scale.

Organisers can enquire about music performances, touring comedy and magic shows, plays, musicals, readings and dinner theatre. The space is also offered for corporate seminars, awards ceremonies and luncheons, as well as nonprofit galas, fundraisers, dances, banquets and fairs. Schools can use it for graduations, recitals and concerts, while couples may arrange a wedding booking directly with the venue or through a wedding planner. Pop-up fairs, exhibitions and other suitable events are also considered.

The management team can arrange a venue tour or virtual viewing, explain the space, access and equipment, answer practical questions and provide a tailored cost estimate. House chairs are included with the rental, and the fixed balcony seating forms part of the theatre’s existing layout. Organisers can also request introductions to recommended local partners for catering, planning, furniture, flowers, décor and valet services. Each booking is subject to availability and suitability, so prospective hirers can contact the manager to discuss their event requirements and check dates.
