The Hegewisch Venue & Creative Space

The Hegewisch Venue & Creative Space is a small event venue in Chicago’s Hegewisch neighbourhood, suited to organisers planning celebrations for up to 60 guests. Its more than 2,500 square feet of space can host intimate weddings and elopements, engagement celebrations, birthdays, brunches, baby and bridal showers, corporate luncheons and other private gatherings. The venue is also presented as a setting for corporate retreats and special occasions.

The interior offers a distinctive backdrop, with exposed whitewashed brick, high ceilings and a decorative staircase that can provide a feature for photographs. The space is intended to be adaptable, giving organisers room to bring their own styling and event plans. Round and rectangular tables, white wooden chairs and additional bench seating are available, along with optional upgraded lighting. A bar, microwave and fridge are provided for use, and complimentary ice is included. The venue has two accessible bathrooms and street parking nearby.

The Hegewisch offers rentals of selected items such as tables, chairs, lighting and some décor. It does not provide decorating services, but it can connect clients with local collaborators, including photographers, florists, selfie booth providers, decorators, DJs and cookie bakers. Showings are available by appointment, giving organisers the opportunity to view the space and discuss whether it suits their event. With its intimate capacity and flexible layout, the venue is especially appropriate for gatherings where a more personal setting is preferable to a large function hall.
