Grand Ballroom STL @ The Alverne

Grand Ballroom STL @ The Alverne offers two distinctive historic event spaces in downtown St. Louis, giving organisers a choice of elegant settings for weddings, receptions, corporate gatherings, private celebrations and other special occasions. The venue occupies a restored 1920s building and combines period character with practical facilities for modern events.

The Gatsby Ballroom is a two-storey Art Deco space for more intimate occasions and stylish celebrations. It can host up to 150 guests seated or 250 standing, with restored chandeliers, columns, a stage, mezzanine balcony, bar, private room and coat room. Built-in sound and lighting equipment supports speeches, entertainment, presentations and evening receptions.

For larger events, the Grand Ballroom provides an open, column-free layout with capacity for up to 300 seated guests or 400 standing guests. Arched windows bring in natural light and offer views across historic downtown St. Louis. The room also includes a house sound system and adaptable mood lighting, allowing organisers to shape the atmosphere around their event design.

The two rooms can be booked separately or combined for a ceremony or cocktail hour in the Gatsby Ballroom followed by a larger reception in the Grand Ballroom. This arrangement is particularly suitable for weddings and events requiring a clear flow between different parts of the programme. The venue has an on-site kitchen and works with a preferred caterer, while approved outside caterers may also be considered.
