The Press Room

The Press Room is a distinctive event venue in downtown Tacoma, Washington, set within a beautifully restored former newspaper and printing building. The venue welcomes a broad range of occasions, including weddings, wedding ceremonies and receptions, corporate events, networking gatherings, galas, workshops, birthday celebrations, mitzvahs, holiday parties, music events and photoshoots. Its flexible layout can accommodate seated dinners, buffet events and cocktail-style receptions, with capacity for up to 350 standing guests depending on the format. Seated arrangements are available across the main floor and mezzanine.

Event planners can make use of a spacious main room, a large custom bar, a mezzanine level, conversation areas, a VIP section and separate suites for wedding parties. Natural light, market lighting, high ceilings, reclaimed timber, exposed structural elements and a ceremony area add atmosphere throughout the space. The venue is also pet friendly and welcomes LGBTQIA+ celebrations.

Packages include venue time, tables, chairs, house linens, buffet and cocktail tables, set-up and breakdown support, heating and air conditioning, coat racks, speakers and microphones. Wedding bookings can also include rehearsal time, a room flip and an on-site venue chaperone. Food and beverage service is provided exclusively through Jonz Catering, while organisers may generally select their own other suppliers. Opera Alley and nearby Tacoma landmarks offer attractive backdrops for photographs, with hotels, parking facilities and city attractions within walking distance.
