Scioto County Welcome Center

Scioto County Welcome Center is a community-focused event and meeting venue in downtown Portsmouth, Ohio. Operated in association with the Community Action Organization of Scioto County, the centre provides practical, flexible rooms for organisers planning meetings, conferences, workshops, community programmes, private celebrations and other local gatherings.

The venue offers two adaptable rooms that can be hired separately or together. Room A is suited to larger groups, while Room B is intended for smaller gatherings and includes access to a holding kitchen. When both rooms are booked, the centre can accommodate up to approximately 250 guests, depending on the chosen layout and event requirements. Available equipment includes tables, chairs, a podium, projector, handheld microphone and lapel microphone, helping organisers prepare presentations, discussions and group sessions without needing to source every basic item separately.

The Welcome Center accepts room rental bookings during the week and provides a straightforward reservation process. Organisers can discuss their event date, expected attendance, room requirements, catering arrangements and equipment needs in advance. External caterers may be used, although the kitchen is intended for holding and serving food rather than cooking. The venue also has clear policies covering decorations, music, alcohol, security, cleaning and set-up, which helps planners understand the practical arrangements before confirming a booking.
