Takenaka – 50 years of building Europe

When you've been shaping the world for 17 generations and have 400 years of building experience under your belt, you don't celebrate your 50th anniversary in Europe with a lukewarm reception and a cheap ribbon. No. You opt for a comprehensive experience that stands the test of time. And so, this multinational came knocking on our door. Because if there's one thing way2events doesn't believe in, it's mediocrity.

A location that fits like a glove

We chose Dolce La Hulpe, in the green belt around Brussels. Not because it was "okay," but because it truly had everything this anniversary deserved: style, peace, and space. And yes, we made the whole place ours. No random passersby, no strange looks. Simply a setting that felt as if Takenaka had designed it himself: sleek, private, and meticulously organized.

No cava. Give us sake.

How you welcome people immediately sets the tone. So, no obligatory glass of cava at the entrance this time, but a proper sake stand. A warm nod to Japan, without overstating it. This wasn't just any Belgian party. This was an ode to fifty years of building bridges between Europe and Japan. And you don't show that with clichés (please don't), but with choices that matter.

Taiko as a foundation

The same goes for the (musical) acts. There are acts that enhance your event, and there are acts that carry it. We opted for the latter (guess what?). A Taiko drum show that made the room tremble – although thankfully, the Takenaka construction engineers remained relatively calm. Powerful, raw, precise. The kind of performance that gives you goosebumps and is still talked about at the coffee machine in the morning. Because when you're celebrating 50 years, you deserve to be seen and heard.

Details that make a difference

A backdrop marking the anniversary. Origami as a playful nod to Japanese aesthetics. Menus in Japanese… These aren't details to tick off a checklist. These are choices that show you take your guests seriously. Respect isn't optional. And believe us: people sense that. There's a world of difference between "decorating a room nicely" and "taking everything to the next level."

Everything arranged, from key to lock

From hotel rooms to dinner and logistics: way2events took care of everything for the client. No stress, no loose ends. The guests checked in, enjoyed themselves, and left without a second's notice of how much work went on behind the scenes. Exactly how we like it. After all, that's how we build: invisible hard work, visible flawless results.

For Takenaka, this was much more than just an anniversary. It was—just like their creations—a memory that (hopefully) will endure. Light entertainment? Anything is possible. But Takenaka opted for an event rooted in their DNA: respect for tradition, attention to detail, and always with the strength to build on!

And that's exactly what we at way2events stand for. Because honestly? We don't just build "an event." We build foundations. And they last.
