March 26, 2024

The first Impact Fair is Europe's largest event for anyone who wants to make a positive impact. On April 4, 5 and 6, impactful organizations, charities and social enterprises will come together at the Royal Jaarbeurs to answer the question: how do you make more impact? From Impact Center Erasmus and UNICEF to Natuurhuisje.nl, KNMI, Follow The Money and Women Inc: in total there are more than 100 organizations present. They show in an interactive way what is already going well in the Netherlands, and especially what people can do themselves to contribute to even more positive impact. The Impact Fair is accessible to everyone, and especially to entrepreneurs, young people and families.

Henk Jan Beltman, impact entrepreneur (ex-chief chocolate officer Tony's Chocolonely): “By consciously making your purchases, we can all take a step. Individually that feels like something small, but together we can really make the world a more beautiful place. And the Impact Fair proves that this doesn't have to be anything but boring.”

Positive spotlight

With everything going on in the world now; floods, diseases and wars, doom-mongering lurks. People want to do something, but don't know how. People become overwhelmed, become indifferent. While many parties are working hard to make an impact step by step. The Impact Fair is a breeding ground for social, environmental and economic improvements. Visitors are not just spectators, but active participants in a community that is growing and flourishing. From Escape Room to VR Experience and from towering climbing wall to karaoke bar, you will find anything but an ordinary exhibition floor at the Impact Fair.

Micha van Hoorn, initiator of the Impact Fair: “At the Impact Fair we want people to experience that it makes sense to do something. We are not the moral compass of society. We want to be constructive, work together and offer people inspiring perspectives for action. The Impact Fair is a meeting place for everyone who is already contributing to achieving the SDG ambitions, and a place to take the first step for those who also want to do something good.”

Each SDG has its own pavilion

At the Impact Fair, committed citizens, difference makers, pioneers, visionaries, inventors, entrepreneurs and social enterprises come together to share ideas, attend workshops and take concrete steps towards a better future. The Fair is divided into pavilions focusing on various Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For each development goal, impact makers interactively inspire visitors to get started themselves.

Jeroen van Hooff, CEO of co-initiator Koninklijke Jaarbeurs: “For three days our exhibition floor is filled with impactful exhibitors who strive for a sustainable future. We have one goal that unites us and that is that together we want to make the world more beautiful by inspiring and motivating visitors to make sustainable choices. We are also working hard to continue the sustainability drive within Jaarbeurs. Our ambition is to be the most sustainable event organizer and facilitator in Europe by 2030.”

Program

In addition to a floor filled with exhibitors who offer all kinds of workshops, innovation labs and interactive experiences, there are also more than 100 speakers who provide visitors with insights and tools that can be immediately applied in practice. From a masterclass from The School of Life to an AI workshop from Nyenrode Business University and the Impact Center Erasmus. The Impact Fair is divided into 3 days, with a special focus on a specific target group per day.
