Due to corona measures, customers at 15 Autoveiligheid vehicle inspection centers had to wait outside for their vehicle. Escape Events was commissioned by the group to look for a solution to protect the customers from the weather while waiting and found the ideal partner in Veldeman.

The covered waiting areas had to be built very quickly and this outside opening hours. They had to be built on to the existing buildings at most locations, have sufficient height for the existing gates and there had to be enough view of the surroundings so that they could be driven out safely.

All inspection stations were visited by Veldeman, the necessary measurements were made on site and special parts were made to measure in our own finishing department. The 15 covered waiting areas were built in just 7 days, in the evenings, at night and on weekends.

A nice case that illustrates how event agencies and suppliers of the event sector are getting creative in this corona crisis and using their strengths to provide solutions that can be deployed quickly. Another example is the temporary relief space that Veldeman realized for the General Municipal Hospital in Aalst in just 3 days to expand the capacity of the emergency department.
