Anima Vinctum is not on his test piece. After a long, thoughtful pregnancy, the birth followed in 2014. The ambition was clear: no repertoire theater but carefully constructed, handmade productions: Prometheus, No Love, Hendrik IV, Closed World, The Archetype, Closed Worlds, Mouth Full Perception.

Each time a surprising and haunting magnum opus. Total spectacle with a rich diversity of art forms: physical theater, text and poetry, dance and movement art, music - with a solid upgrade of the classical genre -, visual art, video art. Each and every one complementary and supporting each other in the pipeline to a powerful message. Different, but not just experimental, because meticulously thought out and detailed.

Experts refer to Grotowski, Stanislavski, Artaud, Becket, Ionesco, Handtke, theater innovators who have penetrated the essence of dramatic action. It started in the Greek theaters 25 centuries ago. The visitors experienced, recognized, were given ideas and controversies. An emotional and mental confrontation, a catharsis or refinement often, despite the austere means used by the theater makers. Folk people as well as philosophers enriched thanks to the depiction of core values, deeply human characteristics and derailed behaviors.

Humor was often nearby. This is also the case in the performances of Anima Vinctum. From wink to

Experiential, every production develops into a polished pearl. Anima Vinctum has already caused a furore in the theater world, but wants to continue to grow. Standing still is going backwards. This arts company always plunges into a new challenge, a never-explored theme, the refinement of form and content and the mutual coordination of both.

Anima Vinctum integrates known and new performing arts. The most diverse artistic expressions are interwoven. In this way the company develops a totally new creative language in the theater world. The employees are not afraid of risks and make every effort to bring a coherent artistic idea to life.

They fully realize that they are part of a cultural tradition with an accompanying history and an inevitable context. Yet they want to show their own and idiosyncratic artistic vision to society. They strive for innovation, in their thematic choice and in the way in which they shape a multidisciplinary performing arts.

ANIMA VINCTUM VZW - MUZIEKKUNST VOOR DANS & THEATER

“Zielsgebonden, zielsverwant”, dat zegt het Latijns vertaalwoordenboek. Wat doet vermoeden dat dit professioneel kunstengezelschap niet vrijblijvend het publiek aanspreekt of entertaint. Theater met een ziel.

Anima Vinctum is niet aan zijn proefstuk. Na een langdurige, bedachtzame zwangerschap volgde in 2014 de geboorte. De ambitie was duidelijk: geen repertoiretheater maar zorgvuldig opgebouwde, handmade producties: Prometheus, No Love, Hendrik IV, Closed World, Het Archetype, Closed Worlds, Mond Vol Perceptie.

Telkens een verrassend en beklijvend magnum opus. Totaalspektakel met een rijke diversiteit van kunstvormen: fysiek theater, tekst en poëzie, dans en bewegingskunst, muziek –met een stevige opwaardering van het klassieke genre-, beeldende kunst, video art. Stuk voor stuk complementair en elkaar ondersteunend in de pipeline naar een krachtige boodschap. Anders, maar niet zomaar experimenteel, want minutieus doordacht en detaillistisch.

Humor was vaak nabij. Zo ook in de voorstellingen van Anima Vinctum. Van knipoog tot
knotsgekke dialoog. Visuele hoogstandjes, absurde situaties. Ook die als integrerend deel van de onderliggende morele stroom die overvloeit naar de toeschouwers.

Verandering, anders leren zien en voelen, daarop mikt de gedreven crew van Anima Vinctum. Professionals werken mee omwille van de openheid, de groei, de grenzeloosheid, de echtheid, de verrijking, de passie. Subsidies en honoraria zijn onbestaande. Ervaringsgericht ontwikkelt elke productie zich tot een gepolijste parel. Anima Vinctum maakte al furore in de theaterwereld, maar wil blijven groeien. Stilstaan is achteruitgaan. Dit kunstengezelschap stort zich telkens op een nieuwe uitdaging, een nooit verkende thematiek, de raffinage van vorm en inhoud en de onderlinge afstemming van beide.

Anima Vinctum integreert bekende en nieuwe podiumkunsten. De meest diverse artistieke uitingen worden verweven. Zo ontwikkelt het gezelschap een totaal nieuwe creatieve taal in de theaterwereld. De medewerkers schuwen risico’s niet en stellen alles in het werk om een coherent artistiek idee tot leven te wekken.

Ze beseffen ten volle dat ze deel uitmaken van een cultuurtraditie met een bijhorende geschiedenis en een onvermijdelijke context. Toch willen ze hun eigen en eigenzinnige artistieke visie tonen aan de maatschappij. Ze streven naar vernieuwing, in hun thematische keuze en in de manier waarop ze vorm geven aan een multidisciplinaire podiumkunst.

Anima Vinctum wil door middel van ingenieuze laboratoriumexperimenten ontdekken, bijleren en een heel eigen creatieve taal ontwikkelen. De weg van artistieke en intellectuele ontplooiing is in feite oneindig en onvoorspelbaar. Anima Vinctum bewandelt een weg die vrijwel onbekend is, maar die het met veel vertrouwen en energie inslaat. Open, onbevangen, maar kritisch kijkend naar de maatschappij om ons heen.
